There have been many medical studies mention that the calcium the body needs to stay healthy and supports the growth of bones and teeth. So you are also obliged to take calcium every day even though you are elderly to prevent osteoporosis. However, you should also pay attention to the amount of calcium you consume. Because it turns too much calcium can cause health problems such as below.


1. Hyperthyroidism
The human body has a parathyroid gland that is responsible for controlling the amount of calcium and phosphorus in the body. When parathyroid hormone is released, then ideally the body must cease to absorb calcium. But when in your body too much calcium, then this hormone will be disrupted and cause chronic problem called hyperthyroidism.

2. Cardiovascular disease
When there is too much calcium in the body, then work your heart be disturbed. In fact, most cases of cardiac arrest is the result of too much amount of calcium in the body.

3. Feeling easily tired and nauseous
One of the main symptoms of increasing the level of calcium in the body is that you will experience nausea and fatigue. Because of the high calcium in the body will cause the body functions can not move optimally.

4. Decrease the amount of other minerals
When in the body there is too much calcium, the other minerals of body would be pressed so that their numbers are declining. One thing you can feel is a rise in blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat.

5. Kidney stones
Did you know that too much calcium in the body can cause kidney stones? This is because too much calcium can interfere with the liver.

Again, something excessive in the body is not good for health. Even for the amount of minerals and nutrients. So always keep your intake of nutrients to keep it healthy and balanced.
